Brian Lobel (writer/performer)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Brian Lobel is thrilled to be premiering "Other Funny Stories About Cancer" at Fillet of Solo. Brian's first play, BALL, has toured extensively at solo festivals, universities and medical schools in the past year and was a featured performance at Makor (New York City), First Person Festival (Philadelphia), and at Single File Chicago. Since moving to Chicago in 2004, Brian has worked with, and for, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, The Goodman Theatre and Next Theatre. His directing credits include "The GUNSLIGNER (and a baby)" & "Selective Service and the Art of Acorn Chance" (both at Breadline Theatre) and "Night-Cher at 20,000 Feet" for Hell in a Handbag Productions. In Ann Arbor, he was the co-creator and co-director of "After A Fashion" with performance artist Holly Hughes, which was later remounted at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. Brian worked as a counselor at Seeds of Peace for 3 years, and has also worked with youth at the US Institute of Peace and Metropolis Theater Company. He is the recipient of the 2004 Hopwood Drama Award and a 2006 CAAP Grant from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs.

 

Margot Bordelon (director)

 

 

 

 

 

 

"Other Funny Stories About Cancer" is Margot's second collaboration with Brian Lobel; they last worked together on BALL, which had its Chicago premiere this summer at the Bailiwick Theatre. Other Chicago directing credits include "SCARRIE! The Musical" with Hell in a Handbag, "Plants and Animals" for Bailiwick's Director's Fest, and "Scrabble Yew Near" for Appetite Theater. She assistant directed "A Man for All Seasons" at TimeLine and "Love Song" at Steppenwolf - where she was an Artistic Apprentice for the '04-'05 season. Her upcoming projects include "Pearl and Eloise are Dead" for Around they Coyote's Fall Festival and "The Perks of Nudity" by David Perez for Pavement Group.

 

Dujuan Pritchett (stage manager)

 

 

 

Dujuan is a veterman stage manager in the Chicago theater scene. He has worked at the Cornservatory, A Red Orchid Theater, Bailiwick and Chicago Dramatists, just to name a few. Dujuan worked in New YOrk on "Stomp!" and the Fringe Fest. Dujuan's favorite band is 311. Thanks to Jennifer for being Jennifer.

 

Drew Durfee

Drew has been involved with Stage Managing and Assisting since he moved to Chicago in August of 2004. Drew has also worked with Silk Road Theatre Project, Breadline Theatre and Tantalus Theatre Group.
